G/A started "Invitational" tournaments in 1981. We held 2-3 each year until
1993. That year we joined the inaugural AMERICAN BACKGAMMON TOUR (ABT). Since
then we have hosted two ABT events each year: the LOS ANGELES OPEN in June and
the CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in December. Below are listed the winners of
the OPEN division, the MASTERS (Super-16 or -32) and the Paul Dingwell Amateur.
Gammon Associates West (GAW) took over the ABT events with the 2017 December
CAL STATE. The Super 16 has been renamed the Masters Jackpot. There was
no L.A. OPEN in 2017.
